Learn MoreI have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I had a couple elementary teachers who I looked up to and wanted to be just like them. They loved all of their students and their job and I wanted that too. I have always loved being with/working with children!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was when I was teaching ELA and all of my students were so engaged, we were writing a class narrative and a spider came across my standing teacher desk. I am so scared of spiders I actually screamed and jumped on a chair. My students came to my rescue and then the whole room erupted into laughter, including myself. To this day my students still talk about it and we have a good laugh thinking about it.
What would you do with the $25,000?I could do so much with $25,000! I would definitely use some of the money to purchase things for my classroom; extra supplies for students, flexible seating, things to support social emotional learning, etc. I also would love to sponsor a field trip to our state capitol. 4th grade focuses a lot on government and we wanted to do that this year but can’t afford it.
