Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I know what it feels like to be lost. For years, drugs and poor choices controlled my life. When I gave my life to God, everything changed. I believe He placed me on this path for a purpose greater than myself. Teaching and coaching allow me to share my story and connect with students who face real struggles. I want them to see that their past does not define them, and that hope, faith, and hard work can build a new future. So others can find light again. With courage.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable part of teaching for me is running into former students, whether they are still in school or long graduated. Seeing them happy, successful, and living meaningful lives is the greatest reward. Knowing I played even a small role in their journey means everything to me. Reliving memories from the classroom or the field, laughing about lessons, games, and growth, reminds me why I chose this path and why the work we do truly matters every single day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have wanted to marry my fiancée for ten years, but life, moves, and finances have always delayed our wedding. She has stood by me through everything without complaint. To finally give her the dream wedding she deserves would mean the world to me. It would honor our journey and her unwavering love. Any remaining funds would go toward my daughter’s future, helping provide stability, opportunities, and support as she grows into the person she is meant to be.
