My journey to becoming a teacher began with 5 college major switches. The passion to end everyday better than the last and to fill your life with positivity drives me. I’ve found it interesting to hear multiple different students over the years ask me “Why are you so happy?” My response has always been, “Why would I not be!” I teach K-12 Physical Education at a small rural school named Higbee R-8. I get the unique opportunity to see all the students on a daily basis. I don’t take it for granted!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was an emotional one that literally just happened tonight. I coach Boys and Girls HS basketball at our school. We just wrapped up our season and it happened all too soon. No one in the locker room could feel a thing after the loss. My wife and I are expecting and looking to start our young family. I kept the secret all season, but at the end of the huddle I let them know our little one would be cheering them on for years to come!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off my wife and I’s student loans and set aside the necessary money to support our young family.
