Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love fueling the hunger to learn in healthy environments. The more I’ve learned about how our minds grow and develop, the more I’ve realized how vital it is for children to have a safe place where they can grow, learn, and try new things without fear. I wanted to be that safe place for the little ones; someone who nurtures curiosity, encourages exploration, and helps them build confidence in who they are becoming.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moments are when a child shifts from “I can’t” to “I did it!” Watching that spark of confidence light up never gets old. When students learn to write their letters, their hands and minds are tackling so many new challenges. Reminding them, “I can do hard things,” helps them push through frustration and build resilience. Seeing their pride and belief in themselves is unforgettable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, my family would be able to expand the Christian preschool we opened by adding another classroom, allowing us to welcome more children into a safe, faith-centered, and nurturing learning environment. It would also give me the opportunity to pursue my love for art and use it to inspire creativity and self-expression in others.
