Learn MoreI became a teacher because I found joy is watching my students learn things for the first time that is adults take for granted on knowing. I also wanted to open up more perspectives for students to let them know that they are capable of anything.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences is when 3rd graders learn multiplication for the first time. I tend to make it fun by teaching kids songs based off popular hits. My personal favorite is when the kids who usually have some hesitation are the first to break out in these multiplication songs.
What would you do with the $25,000?Working at a Title I school I’ve seen children who come in wearing the same clothes because of situations at home. My school had been trying to get a washer and dryer in order to was students clothes and coats. We teachers encourage our students to chase their dreams, but this money would help me chase mine on working to become the next Miss Illinois USA. You can follow that journey on my instagram page or look up #crowntheteacher
