Each day I get to tell young people how amazing they are and the difference they are going to make; and each day they prove that I’m right.

I became a teacher because I have been blessed with inspiring teachers and uplifting mentors. After over a decade in another profession and many life experiences, I knew I was ready to give back. I have achieved so many interesting things in my life, and I want to help my students realize that they have the potential to do anything they set their minds to.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn my first year of teaching, I organized a Red Carpet Ceremony to celebrate my students. Each dressed elegantly and received a personalized award, with a metaphor highlighting their uniqueness. They each got their own "Hollywood Star" and were celebrated for their individual qualities. This has become a cherished tradition, giving students a special moment of recognition. I hope it’s one of many celebrations they experience throughout their lives.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000 I would first purchase comfortable chairs and desks for my students. Next, I would donate to my students' greenhouse project, they want to have a fully operational greenhouse and we need funds to make it happen. I would also purchase a new iPad to use as I circulate the classroom, and finally, the remainder would go to a fund for future classroom books and materials.
