I originally applied to be a security guard at my son's school five years ago so I could be near him since I don't have any type of support system. They had a Paraprofessional opening in the SPED department, so I applied and have been moving up ever since. Teaching has become my life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhile working in Special Education, I had a student who was unable to read and had given up on trying. That student is now reading chapter books thanks to me.
What would you do with the $25,000?First, I would take a memorable trip with my son because we have not had a vacation since I've become a teacher. I would put the rest down on a house. I've never own a house and I would like to give my son a rood over his head when I am gone.
