Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I had some great teachers growing up. I admired the knowledge that they had and delivered to me as a student. Not all teachers were great, but nevertheless they taught me about how I wanted to be as a teacher. I had teachers who nurtured me, others who believed in my potential, and those who challenged me to do better. It was a combination of all these things that made me go into teaching.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience would have to be when a student who was diagnosed with a learning disability came to me and told me that he liked that I never treated him like he was less than. I always pushed him. He is now a social worker.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the 25,000 I would love to take a vacation to Paris, it has been a dream of mine since I began taking French in middle school to travel to Paris. I would also like to pay off some debts, get some things fixed on my car, and save some for a rainy day.
