I became a teacher to be able to make a difference in children’s lives. I am a minority and I believe it is essential for students who are a minority be able to see someone who looks like them in the world of education.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience teaching has been this past year 2024. I have a 4th grade student who did not know their letter sounds and after working very hard just last week (1/20/25) she came up to me and said “Mrs Tesner I can read ! Watch I can read this page” it was a Biscuit book. Watching her be excited to be able to read and learn has been the best moment I have ever experienced.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would purchase Stem resources for my class room ! Like circuit boards and many other resources that I know my students would enjoy as well as many other things we are missing as a school. I work at a title one school in which we sometimes lack simple supplies like paper.
