Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love children. My main job throughout high school and college was babysitting. I always knew I wanted to be a mom and what better major in college than early childhood education? I enjoy everyday teaching children, watching that “light bulb” go off when they learn something new. It’s the most rewarding job anyone could have. The role a teacher plays in the life of a child is an inspiration and I hope I am in inspiration to all my students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experiences in teaching are keeping up with the students as they move from grade to grade. The days they come back by to say “hi” or tell me how much they miss me. The graduation invitations I receive is such a proud moment for them. I hope they know how proud of a moment it is for me too!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Well… obviously some of it would go right into my classroom. A big party for my class, maybe a field trip too! Then a little into savings for that one day that retirement comes.
