I became a teacher because science allows us to make better choices for ourselves and the environment. I’m passionate about living things and making sure the future generations can see the same amazing creatures I have seen.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceHow can I pick just one? Students trusting me enough to confide in me, when I had a kid accidentally try to dissect a squid eye and it squirted back into his own eye and he joked about it, coaching my soccer boys to the first playoff game in 20 years, the list goes on.
What would you do with the $25,000?Finish paying off my student loans for graduate school (masters in education) and put the rest towards the down payment on a house. Housing in San Diego is hard to find! Admittedly I would also use some of the money to go SCUBA dive….being underwater makes me feel calm and centered.
