Tell us why you became a teacher

The reason why I became a teacher is because I’ve always loved their innocence and curiosity towards the world. A child is so beautiful in every way, and personally I’ve always try to see the world through a child’s eyes. I learn from them and they learn from ; a beautiful give and take. Their mind is an open canvas and I love to see their wondrous expressions on any form of learning outlet. They are art in motion.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was in a kindergarten class! One of my children was very excited about cars and had tried to put a car together with k’nex ; which included wheels. I scaffolded by asking how can we add two more wheels to the one you already have ? He came back after trial and error and added 4 wheels . Then I ask, does it move? He went back and reflected and tried to problem He came back and with minor adjustments he was able to make the car move! He felt so proud!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000, I would invest into looking into more workshops to better my learning for enriching a classroom and how to make it meaningful. I would use the money to diversify the classroom as well! If I have some money I’d help myself with bills too ;)
