Tell us why you became a teacher

I was not on the path to teach, but I always loved helping others and have been very organized since I can remember. In my career path, I always found myself doing things that were crafty and interesting for my kids to enjoy. Once I was in a position to change careers, it seemed logical that teaching would be the path to walk! I have enjoyed seeing students learn in many different ways and being a facilitator of the learning process makes this career worth every turn it took to get here!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment teaching was when a student graduated but came back and told me that even though he didn’t do well in my class, everything I taught him prepared him for the next grade and he was very grateful for it!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win, I would put a down payment on my home and then take the rest to help secure a learning garden for my science class. I want to always see my students succeed and if I could give back in anyway with just a small token, I would!
