Tell us why you became a teacher

I always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I could remember. It’s what I was called to do. I get to help others grow, learn, develop, get better, I get to see first hand what a diligent hand produces overtime whether it is by teaching a new skill, a new way of thinking, or just having a heartfelt conversation, I get to challenge negative narratives and teach how to Write a positive one. I am a change agent for the better everyday through each student, lesson plan, each assignment, each day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable experience is when my students created a leadership project helping other students fight mental illness. They created a support group called Mind Over Matters where their peers could come and talk with trained counselors and peers counselors. It was such a success those same students who created the program were honored by the state of New Jersey for their accomplishments as student leaders. That was a memorable experience.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000 I would pay off debt, Give to my Church, Save some for a rainy day, and go to DisneyWorld!!!
