Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I was inspired by the great teachers and role models I had growing up. Through sports, extracurricular activities, and volunteering, I developed a love for learning and community involvement. I have always had a passion for working with children, fostering their curiosity, and helping them explore the world around them. Teaching allowed me to combine these passions by creating a positive impact on students’ lives and encouraging their growth and development.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences has been working with English Language Learners. This year, I’ve had the opportunity to support many EL students in my classroom and as my school’s English Language tutor for K-6th grade. Watching their perseverance, progress, and excitement for learning has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing their confidence grow as they develop their language skills is a true blessing and a reminder of the impact a supportive learning environment can have.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I’d pay off my car to have one less thing to worry about. I’d also get some much-needed supplies for my classroom and replace several items that are broken. I’d pay off a few bills, and take my family on a vacation to spend some quality time together and make great memories. Lastly, I would definitely have a class pizza party to celebrate!
