Learn MoreMy first born was diagnosed with disabilities so I vowed to advocate for him, my students and their parents. I wanted to guide the families toward success and let them know that their children had potential. I also aim to support teachers when possible to answer questions or concerns about children with disabilities in their classroom.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceRecently, one of my students that I have been teaching for four years made major gains. He took a standardized Math test and score 30 points placing him on grade level. We hugged and rejoiced, what a major accomplishment. He's ready to return to the general education class, this warms my heart.
What would you do with the $25,000?The past few years have been incredibly challenging for me financially, especially after my recent separation. Despite the hardships, my greatest priority has always been my son’s future. With these funds, I would be able to support his education, ensuring he has every opportunity to succeed. Additionally, I would love to take my family on a much-needed vacation, giving us a chance to heal, create beautiful memories, and finally breathe after all we’ve endured.
