Tell us why you became a teacher

Being a teacher has always been my dream and passion. I became a teacher because I wanted to support all learners in finding, defining, and using their voices to make a difference. I know what it feels like to not be heard or seen. Being an educator allows me to be an advocate with the potential, unlike any other profession, to create professionals who will be critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners who will make an impact on society.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was helping a struggling reader discover the joy of reading. Watching him eagerly read aloud and assist others who faced similar challenges warmed my heart.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’m excited to put this money to great use! First, I’ll pay for my tuition and certification exams. I'm passionate about giving back, so I plan to contribute to creating a relaxing Student Zen Zone at school. I'll also treat my classroom babies to Roblox gift cards to share some joy with them. Lastly, but most importantly I’ll take my mother on a well-deserved mini vacation with her pup Kingy.
