I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in children’s lives. Seeing their curiosity, growth, and excitement for learning inspires me every day. I love creating a supportive environment where students feel valued and confident. Teaching allows me to empower young minds, spark creativity, and help students reach their full potential. Knowing I play a role in shaping their futures makes every challenge worth it. It’s more than a job—it’s my passion and purpose.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was seeing a struggling student finally grasp a concept they had worked so hard on. The joy in their eyes and the confidence they gained in that moment reminded me why I love teaching. Watching students overcome challenges, grow, and believe in themselves is the most rewarding part of my job. That moment reaffirmed my passion for teaching and the impact I have on their learning journey every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25K, I would invest in resources to enhance my students’ learning, like hands-on materials, technology, and engaging books. I’d also create immersive experiences, such as field trips, to bring lessons to life. Additionally, I’d pursue professional development to grow as an educator. I want to create my own deaf education department within school districts that lack them to ensure continued support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, giving them the resources they deserve to succeed.
