Tell us why you became a teacher

I am the daughter of immigrants parents and immigrant myself. I wanted to make a difference. Help young children who come to a different state with a different language than English feel successful. Provide the support I once had from great mentors .

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

A student who could not read in fifth grade. He was reading at a first grade level. He came to me for tutoring after school for two years. He said “you are a great teacher I can read”

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would help my parents, pay my debt as this year it’s been difficult . I’m a single mom now for 15 years. I would just really take care of how I spent the funds and help those who have helped me during this difficult year.
