Tell us why you became a teacher

I always loved children and after staying home with my own until they went off to kindergarten needed something to fill my bucket! Teaching preschool gives me the opportunity to continue shaping the youngest minds! I love fostering kindness, confidence and social emotional skills. They are so important! Helping young parents and teaching them how to raise kind, confident and socially emotionally strong children is also a favorite component of my job!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Years ago I allowed a boy to bring a stuffie with him to school.Although we don’t usually allow this,an exception was made to help ease separation anxiety.Unbeknownst to me,this little guy went home at the end of the day and FORGOT his security stuffie.That evening at 9pm,his frantic mom called crying and exhausted stating that she had been trying for hours to put her son to bed without his stuffie!Icould not imagine!I went to school, broke into my classroom and delivered his bear to his home!

What would you do with the $25,000?

As a teacher at a private school, my salary is quite low… even having worked there for 25 years. I also do not get benefits. I would use this money to help pay some bills and plan for my future! I also hope to spoil my future grandchildren!!
