Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher after leaving a career in corporate finance because I wanted to use my creativity in a more meaningful way. Teaching allows me to inspire young minds and make a lasting impact every day. I earned my master’s degree, and it’s been the best decision of my life. Seeing my students grow and thrive is incredibly rewarding, and I haven’t looked back since making the switch.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when my second graders wrote cards to my husband’s cousin, Mike, who was battling cancer. Without hesitation, they poured their hearts into messages of kindness and encouragement. Seeing their compassion reminded me why I became a teacher. Moments like these—when students connect with others and learn the power of empathy—are the ones I’ll carry with me forever.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25K, I’d first take a meaningful trip with my family, creating memories that we’d treasure forever. With the remaining funds, I’d enhance my classroom by investing in flexible seating to foster collaboration, purchasing new books to inspire a love of reading, and creating an engaging, comfortable learning environment where my students can thrive. It would be the perfect blend of family and career growth.
