Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher so I could have a positive impact on future generations. I wanted to be able to share my passion for learning and my passion for history. And I wanted to help create a future of independent thinkers.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Every interaction with every student I teach is memorable. I had one student who had lost her sister in a car accident and who was so open about the experience. I found she loved sharing her memories and fostering a relationship with us educators. The connections I made with this student was a small piece of the puzzle in her rebuilding herself after tragedy struck her family. It is those moments with my students-making those connections and helping them grow that are the most memorable

What would you do with the $25,000?

Oh gosh-if I won $25,000 I would be able to help invest in my families financial future making it more stable by paying off some debts. Additionally, I would be able to donate a good portion of it to the Children’s Tumor Foundation that works to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for my son’s disorder-Neurofibromatosis. It would be a dream to win 25,000!
