Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I leave a great impact on children! I love molding young ones. After teaching head start/preschool (3-5 year olds) for 19 years and saw how I built long lasting relationships with children and their families, I knew I had what it takes to help young minds develop and learn. I now teach public school children, and the same thing is happening! I love to teach, that’s all!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was at Lakeview Development Center (Chicago), from 2013-2018. I was lead teacher of 3-5 yr old children who were of different races. I was able to bind them together, learning about each culture, different music, dances, foods, and clothing. I provided a fun-filled learning environment. We did many social and science experiences! I created web boards for many head start subjects, which included “real world” items, matching monthly studies.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will pay a portion toward my student loan bill, help my elderly mom, and give to my 2 grandsons, 2 years old Lenox, and 15 years old SirCaleb.
