I became a teacher to do my part to ensure that we have the collective knowledge to make a sustainable world for humans and all living things to thrive.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe year that we had shortened classes because of COVID restrictions we did a lot of investigations outdoors. In one memorable activity, we made marshmallow rocket launchers to as part of our lessons on air pressure. I remember that it was thrilling to the students and quite a lot of fun.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take my family to a national park like Yosemite or Volcano National Park. Last year I was able to take one daughter to Texas to see the eclipse but my younger daughter was in college and couldn't make the trip. I would love to share a similar experience with all of us. Excursions (near and far) are invigorating to me personally and enliven my teaching as well.
