Growing up in Palestine, where education was a luxury amid constant war, I faced challenges many couldn't overcome. Though I couldn’t serve in my homeland, I became determined to teach. I wanted to empower others to believe that, with faith and the right resources, the impossible could be achieved. As a Palestinian American, no matter where I teach, I strive to inspire students to reach their full potential and make a lasting difference in their lives.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was in my fourth year when a boy from Mexico joined my class, facing the same challenges I once did—struggling with English and feeling behind. I remembered how my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Barnes, supported me and helped me believe in myself. This time, I was able to pass that encouragement along to him. Watching him grow in confidence and succeed was a full-circle moment, reminding me of the power of compassion and teaching.
What would you do with the $25,000?Donate to a nonprofit organization, pay off car/credit card debt, and place the rest in my twin daughters college fund.
