I became a teacher because I was emotionally abused as a child and school was my safe place. I wanted to be a safe adult for as many kids as possible and create a safe space for all of them. I love learning and creating students who are passionate about it as well.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a student write me a note and bring it to me several years after he was in my class. He said “You taught me that there are adults who believe in you. You taught me I can do anything.” That was rewarding and is something I think about often.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off some of my debt from getting my degree and use the rest for a down payment on a house.
