I did not want to be a teacher. Something in me told me to do this so many others did not have to go through what I did and not have someone they could go to for a safe place. I wanted to be that safe place and share my love with others.

Unfortunately , I don’t have any good memories. I feel that I could have been absent for a week and nobody would have noticed, teachers nor students. I know this sounds impossible but it really is true. After more than 30+ years in education I know I have made a difference in lives, both students and parents. I have been told this numerous times I can’t count. I turned my pain into helping others succeed.

Take a trip to another country and teach for a year to see the difference and to maybe let myself feel wanted and needed before I retire, something I haven’t felt in my heart but know in my head I do matter.
