Prior to teaching, I worked in sales. While the money was great, I was never truly happy. In 2009, my brother passed away leaving behind 2 little girls. Their teachers were awful and I vowed to be a change. I switched career paths in 2014 and have dedicated my work to making a lasting, positive impact in my students lives.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceLast year, I had a student who had a tough time in 1st grade. He was emotionally unhappy and had a hard time focusing and completing any work. Last year when I had him in my 2nd grade class, we developed a bond. I learned what made him happy and what empowers him to learn. We built a program together for his success. This year I moved up to 3rd grade and am happy to say he is in my class again making wonderful progress.
What would you do with the $25,000?This money would change our lives. I would be able to get out of debt, take my family on a memorable vacation, and start investing the remainder for our future.
