My grandfather loved teaching and learning and was a professor and teacher for his entire life. He inspired me to follow in his footsteps. I teach to help students feel loved and gain knowledge to become critical thinking citizens in whatever roles they aspire to.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was when I validated a student’s personal identity and contributions to the mathematical discussion and saw their joy and growth in my class for the remainder of the school year.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to move forward in my financial goals so that I can remain teaching in a school and community that I feel passionate about. With this money, I could provide my students with resources to learn hands on and feel more at home in my classroom.
