Tell us why you became a teacher

After COVID-19 hit, I found myself in need of a new job. I started working at a childcare center, and quickly developed a deep passion for the children and their natural curiosity. Their fascination with learning each day inspired me. It was then that I realized I wanted to pursue a career in education, so I decided to go to school and work towards becoming a lead teacher at the center.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Every day, I am fortunate to have memorable and impactful teaching experiences. It is incredibly rewarding to witness each child’s progress, from their small achievements to their significant milestones. Whether it's the pride they feel when they successfully use the potty, complete an entire song with movements, or correctly use their dot markers to finish the weekly letter, these moments of growth are truly inspiring.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to put money back into our school, maybe upgrading our outdoor play areas, asking my other co workers for supply list and be able to fulfill those lists for them. Would also love to figure out how to start a foundation for early childhood support for teachers as they make little pay for such impactful work.
