Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because it is my calling. As a child, I loved learning and often played “school,” inspired by the passion of my elementary teachers. School felt like a second family, and I cherished the sense of belonging it gave me. I even spent summers helping teachers set up their classrooms, eager to be part of the magic. . These experiences shaped my desire to create a welcoming and inspiring space for my students, where they can thrive, feel valued, and develop a love for learning.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Every day in the classroom brings moments of joy, laughter, and growth. But the most memorable experiences are the small, everyday victories—watching a student’s confidence grow, seeing their eyes light up with understanding, or receiving a heartfelt “thank you” or “I love you” from a child who finally feels seen and supported. Teaching is full of these moments, and they remind me why I do what I do.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 prize, I would invest in my education by pursuing my doctorate, allowing me to grow as an educator and make a lasting impact on students and fellow teachers. I would also use this opportunity to plan my wedding, celebrating love and partnership as I continue building a future filled with purpose, passion, and lifelong learning.
