Tell us why you became a teacher

The reason I wanted to become a teacher is because I deeply value education. I come from Myanmar, a place where education wasn't always seen as a priority. Arriving here has shown me firsthand how much education truly matters. It's a privilege that I now fully appreciate, and I want my students to understand its importance as well. Through teaching, I hope to inspire them to recognize the power of education and the opportunities it can provide for their futures.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

What’s truly memorable about teaching is seeing students from other countries, who initially feel lost, find purpose through education in America. They become determined to earn their high school diploma and continue their education, driven by newfound hope for their future.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will use the $25,000 to invest in courses and training that will enhance my teaching skills and better equip me to support my students. These classes will allow me to deepen my knowledge, learn new teaching methods, and understand how to address the unique needs of my students. Ultimately, this investment will help me become a more effective educator, creating a positive and enriching learning experience for those I teach.
