Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to inspire, uplift, and empower students to see their potential. Every child deserves to feel valued, seen, and capable. I strive to make learning engaging, build meaningful connections, and celebrate each student's unique strengths. My greatest joy is seeing that 'aha' moment when a student realizes they can do something they once thought was impossible. My 'why' is to spark curiosity, encourage big dreams, build confidence, and ensure every student knows they matter.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One memorable teaching experience was with a student who struggled with math and felt defeated by every lesson. With support and perseverance, their confidence grew, and they began tackling challenges with excitement. Watching them shift from a fixed to a growth mindset and find joy in math was a powerful reminder of the impact of encouragement. Moments like these, when students realize their potential are why I love teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Winning $25,000 would allow me to give back to my hometown and the community that shaped me. I earned scholarships because others believed in me, and I want to pay that forward. I'd enhance classroom resources, provide opportunities for students in need, and create enriching experiences to inspire a love of learning. I'd also invest in my learning to refine my teaching, ensuring I continue to make a lasting impact on students and education.
