I always enjoyed school as a kid. I loved music and playing in bands. Staying in school and furthering my career in education allowed me to pursue my dream while enjoying a steady income and stable health benefits. I always think about the teachers that influenced me. They’re kind of like celebrities. I love seeing students come back and telling me how I impacted their lives. Teaching gives me a fulfilling sense of purpose.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable teaching experience for me each year is the summer camp that my wife and I put on with Kids from kindergarten up to eighth grade. It’s so cool to have the kids come back to volunteer to help with the camp. Over the years, the kids that we direct in our plays become lifelong friends. My favorite memory from camp was watching the kids perform “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. My wife and I were trying to get pregnant at the time and it was just a really surreal moment for me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Now that my wife and I are about to have a child, I would use that money to invest into their future. I’d also like to record some new original music with my wife. I’d donate some to our schools as well! Thank you :)
