Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to ignite curiosity, inspire confidence, and show every child they are capable of greatness. Every day, I get to shape the future by empowering young minds to dream big, think boldly, and believe in themselves. Teaching isn’t just a job—it’s my purpose, my passion, and my way of making a lasting impact. The greatest reward is seeing a child light up with understanding, knowing I’ve helped them realize their own limitless potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments was when a quiet student, who rarely spoke, handed me a note that said, “You make me feel smart.” It was a simple sentence, but it meant everything. In that moment, I knew I was making a difference—not just in academics, but in self-worth. Teaching is more than lessons; it’s about building confidence, showing kids they matter, and helping them see their own potential. That note is a reminder of why I do what I do.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I’d pay off student loans, invest in classroom supplies to give my students the best learning experience, and further my education to become a stronger teacher. I’d also love to create a classroom library filled with diverse books that inspire curiosity and representation. A portion would go toward helping students in need, ensuring they have the resources to succeed. Most importantly, I’d use it to make a real impact, both in my classroom and in my own growth as an educator.
