I come from a long line of Educators on both my Paternal and Maternal side, most of whom I never learned of their profession until I myself was in the field. That said, it has no doubt shaped and molded me directly or indirectly into the women I am today. Additionally, I've loved books at a very young age and couldn't wait to share what I learned with others. I believe a good teacher doesn't simply choose the profession, the profession in part chooses you. I truly believe that to be my case
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many awesome ones to share, but this is an earlier and truly memorable one. One cold wintry day I had accepted a sub position at a Charter school. Upon arrival I noticed there were only a few cars parked. I soon realized school was delayed several hours, nevertheless some students had been dropped off. Concerned for their safety I asked the janitor to let us in. Once inside I gathered some books & art supplies and kept the kids safe warm and engaged until school was in session.
What would you do with the $25,000?First I would donate to my local Kingdom Hall (place of worship). Next, a modest donation to (Austin Discovery School) where I teach 1st grade. (Awesome school) Then I would buy a small trailer for my Italian ice business .. I'd re-stock my classroom with supplies and new books, pay off some debt, take a relaxing cruise and put the rest in the bank.. 😊
