I became a teacher to make a difference in my community. My goal is to inspire and help the next generations love to learn and be kind from an early age. These are skills that will make one successful in life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my favorite classes was a class that had 18 out of 22 English language learners. I speak very little Spanish. It was a year I learned to work together with my students. The students and I learned from each other. I built bonds with my families . The families learned to trust our school family and utilize the resources we had at our school to help their families. The children learned another language and met success. Forever friendships were made and love was felt.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to build a community garden at our school with the money granted from this contest. This would help our community learn how to plant. This would be a great resource for our school community. I would love to teach the students how to plant. This garden would teach the students to work together to maintain the garden, and use the crops to make different recipes. Teaching the students to plant is a life skill that they can use for the rest of their lives. What a great gift to give.
