I became a teacher because I was working in Adult Education and I decided I wanted to make an impact in kids lives sooner. I met brilliant people in adult education that just needed inspiration sooner. My grandmother was also a teacher and I always went to her class as a child. She inspired me to love and value the power of education. This also made me want to inspire students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI think we as teachers have memories that are made everyday. My favorite is when my students come back to see me and share where they are in life. One powerful memory is when one of my students that I had in 4th grade reached out to thank me for believing in him. He was a student that prior to my class was told he needed special education. I told his mom to give me time. Well he had an amazing year and found his genius with in him. Now he is in college traveling and thriving!
What would you do with the $25,000?For me I would pay off my school debt and pay for my sons’ college. I would pay off debts and I would put money in savings. I would use some on the trip to Hawaii to add to the experience.
