I became a teacher due by tripping into a wonderful career by accident, as a para. My first position was in middle school as a para, I went back to college to become a teacher. After many years I left teaching, for ten years, to work in a university library; promoting with professional achievements. But, was not fulfilled and had to return to my calling as a middle school classroom teacher. The rewards that happen along the way are bonus! Best decision I ever made in my career! Blessed.

Last year I was honored as the Madison County Green Schools Coordinator of the year, in our county. One teacher is selected that has shown, taught, led by example, and more, the ways and benefits of living green. We won contests that were put forth, and did projects too. Task by task, we learned more and achieved more. Many parents and my principal nominated me to the MadCo Green Schools as the person of year, 2024. It was in the paper and all over social media, I was/am so honored! Blessed.

With $25,000 I would pay down student loans. Yes I still have them. I would donate some to my program at school to enrich my science classes and I would also take a good amount of it and start a college fund of some sort for my future grandchildren; plan for their future in order to help my daughter plan for her future children. I would be very Blessed.
