Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because teachers bring us to a state of awareness of ourselves and others. We become better people in our communities, both local and globally, with an ability to care for others on a higher level. Teachers understand that there are steps, a process, within each person, that leads them to their essential nature and to their strengths.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I remember teaching in my most recent "Yoga with Cello" class, to a bunch of noisy teenagers (that's ok by me), but just recently, a kid thanked me for helping her to feel calm in her stressful week of Music auditions. She was able to find calm in the middle of this noisy bunch.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would spend it on bringing awareness to mental calmness for our children who all suffer from digital and social overload. I would tour the states as Rebecca Gilmore Cello / dba "Yoga with Cello", offering to Universities and to Music Conservatories about how to find calm and how to listen to music as a re-charge.
