I became a teacher because of the teachers that positively impacted my life while I was in school. The first person that really inspired me to become a teacher is my mom. She is my biggest inspiration and role model for life. She is a teacher and I grew up watching her inspire her students each and every day. My goal has always been to be like her, and now as an 8th year teacher, I can tell that I am starting to get closer to that goal.

My most memorable experience is watching my students get excited about what they have learned in AP Calculus and when they gain enough confidence in themselves to create their own AP Calculus parody music videos to share with the rest of the class. The day after the students take the AP Calc BC exam, we sit through class, eat snacks, and watch the music videos that everyone has made that teach the class about the calc they learned throughout the year. It is everyone's favorite day of the year.

I have been saving up for a while to buy my first house. I would love to be able to move into the district where I teach. I would use the money to help cover part of the down payment for a house near the school I teach at.
