I love being a teacher because it’s so much more than teaching my subject. It’s about instilling confidence and leadership skills .

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a positive difference in children’s lives. So many children only have school as their positive place in their lives. I want to be one of those people they can build a relationship with. I want to push them and show them that they can be successful. I want my students to feel valued and learn how to be leaders in this world. I want them to show them they can make a difference by being kind.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moment was when a former student came back to visit on a teacher institute day. She spoke to the whole staff about how important our staff was to her and her success in life. She specifically shared how a certain staff member made her feel loved and like she had a second mom. She started crying and then came and gave me a hug. I was that person to her. I made a difference in her life. This is why I do what I do and deal with the stresses of this job.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won, I would pay off several bills first. Then I would go on a vacation with my family. Finally, I would donate money to help my church go on mission trips so we can help others in need.
