Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher for the following reasons. First, I love interacting with children. Their innocence, playfulness, and curiosity bring me so much joy. Second, I went to a Catholic grade school when I was young. It was a small parochial school that was filled with loving teachers who were committed to helping students grow and make a difference in the world. The love of children and the love I felt from my teachers inspired me to become a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was having my students learn the design process and create inventions. Several years ago my class partnered with scientists at a medical college. The scientists came to our school for our invention convention, and each child received a review of his/her patent and affirmations about his/her invention. News media came to our school and interviewed the scientists, students, and me, and we made it on the evening news. What a memorable experience!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Winning $25,000 would be amazing! First, I would rent a cabin for my family and go on vacation. It would be a great opportunity to spend quality time together, relax, and create lasting memories. Next, I would give each of my adult children money to help with college loan payments or to use towards new vehicles. This would ease their financial load, and it would bring me so much happiness. Last, I would use the remaining winnings on home improvements. What a beautiful gift $25,000 would be!
