As a teacher, each day brings new challenges. I love teaching ESL because I get to teach content as well as the English language.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I have always known my calling was to work with children, so teaching elementary school was the logical choice. After 2 mission trips to Mexico, where I worked in orphanages, I developed a love for children with the greatest needs, which later inspired me to get my Master’s degree in ESL.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable teaching experience to me isn’t one thing. My most memorable experiences are seeing the children I have taught go on to be successful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my student loan debt and begin to pay for my own children’s college.
