I love making educational games that have given me new ways to teach subjects/lessons otherwise described by students as boring.

Learn MoreI was a coach while working with the local YMCA, and it was suggested by my lead that I’d make a great teacher. My goal as a teacher was to make learning fun again. Every class I was in growing up all did the same thing for every student: read a passage, then answering a bunch of questions, then have a quiz later in the week. This didn’t work for everyone. So I decided to create educational games lessons for everyone with a different learning style to create a successful learning environment.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn 2009, I took my talents to an online school. Here I took my educational board games and went digital. So instead of a study guide, we played our games with questions from their lessons. These interactive games themed with Disney, WWE, and sports were regularly attended and students showed improved grades because learning was fun again. These games and lessons I taught afforded me the opportunity to win a National Teaching Award in 2012 as the most innovative online teacher of that year.
What would you do with the $25,000?The first thing I would do I help pay some family debts. I’d set some aside for my son’s college. Then with what is left over, I’d like to take my family to Disney World for a little break in the summer, and visit my brother in Florida while we’re there.
