Tell us why you became a teacher

Neshaminy was a district that gave me so much growing up. Emotionally, educationally, and personally. I wanted to teach because I wanted to pay it forward to the next generation and give them the kind of teacher that changed my life

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I was in a long term substitute position at a middle school. A girl was acting up in class. I was asking her to calm down and get it together. At some point she got annoyed with me and told me to “F off”(except she used the word). I sent her to the office and the principal called down to me. Asked me what I wanted to do with her. I said I wanted her to have to come down and talk to me, and not suspend her. She grew into a great young woman and told me years later that moment changed her.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Our auditorium is in desperate need of upgrades. I would use this to support our entire music program and upgrade our lighting and sound.
