Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to create a safe and supportive space where kids feel valued and empowered. I believe every child deserves a voice, and I strive to encourage them to express themselves, dream big, and believe in their potential. My goal is to inspire them to see that with hard work and determination, they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Teaching allows me to be a positive influence and help shape confident, capable individuals ready to embrace their future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable moment as a teacher was making oobleck with my students. Watching their excitement as they explored its unique properties was unforgettable. They were amazed to discover how it could act as both a solid and a liquid, sparking curiosity and wonder. Seeing their faces light up with each experiment and hearing their questions showed how much they were learning through hands-on exploration. It was a perfect blend of fun and education, reminding me why I love teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would purchase iPads for my classroom to enhance science learning. These devices would provide students with access to interactive apps, virtual experiments, and engaging simulations that bring complex concepts to life. iPads would also allow students to conduct research, collaborate on projects, and explore scientific topics in creative ways. By integrating technology into the classroom, I could foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of science.
