Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because it was more than just a career choice—it was a calling. I’ve always felt a deeper connection with students than with adults, and I thrive in an environment where curiosity, creativity, and growth are at the center. Teaching allows me to support and guide young minds, meeting them where they are and helping them discover their strengths.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences as a teacher was winning Teacher of the Year the very first year I was eligible. It was an incredible honor to be recognized for my passion and dedication to my students. The excitement didn’t stop there—I had the unforgettable opportunity to be part of the city parade, celebrating alongside my community. That moment truly reinforced my calling as an educator and reminded me how impactful this profession can be.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would use it to pay off my dental bills, which I currently can’t afford, and put the rest toward my teacher loan, which I am able to manage. This would give me financial relief while allowing me to focus more on my students and my passion for teaching.
