I was very fortunate growing up. I had a very supportive and loving family. But school was a place I loved to be. It was a place where I felt most comfortable. I felt supported. This all was a result of my amazing teachers. I still keep in touch with many of my teachers and coaches today. I wanted to have that same lasting impact on a student(s) during my lifetime.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIt’s hard to pick one. I put in a great effort effort day to connect with each of my students. I teach PE so I see roughly 200-225 students a day. I greet them at the door. I walk around during the attendance period to check in. It’s the rapport and trust that I try to build with my students that inspires me to work harder for them. And when they finally buy in without being “forced to participate” it’s the best feeling. It’s a mutual level of trust.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would put it aside for my future children to either pursue college or a tech school.
