I’m applying for my mom. She has committed her life to serving the kids that everyone else has given up on. She goes above and beyond.

Tell us why you became a teacher

My mom always wanted to teach. She is so passionate about kids and the importance of knowledge and the opportunity education can bring. Especially in this political climate my mom is committed to teaching kids to think critically and think for themselves

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My mom continues to have the highest math scores in her county for the last ten years. She would never brag about this but I will. She had a student a few years ago that she has basically adopted. She goes to all her games and continues to tutor her, I think because of this she will have college opportunities.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’m not sure what my mom would do with 25K pay off her mortgage and help my dad pay off debt or help pay my medical debt. I can almost guarantee she will use the majority on others. But as her daughter I will make sure she treats herself for once.
